Borat

So it was sexy time today, and I took some time off from school to go check out some borat today...the verdict? You can have an equally sexy time watching it on video. For those who are periodically checking my blog for new posts, I'm wondering what your thoughts are...does the movie qualify for sexytime status, or is it more khazakstandard rental material?

I suppose that yes, it would still be just as funny on video, but you suck for saying that.

However, couldn't we say that about all movies? They are just as good at the theater as they are on video?

I for one think the movie was enhanced by the theatrical experience, not only because it became more of a social event, but also because the shared attention and laughter that one shares with an entire theater full of people. What was brilliant about this is some people just don't get it, and it was buttfucking funny to watch those people walk out of the theater offended, obviously they weren't in on the joke.

Also, the people behind me in the theater were dying, and they had no idea who Borat was beforehand, except from word of mouth and the trailers. Hearing them say "Oh my god, he isn't gonna..." was awesome too.

Although, when I do buy it on DVD, I will be able to properly masturbate to the wrestling scene, and no one will come and tell me to stop or we'll have to call the cops. Fucking democrats.

I just see a-Borat. Is nice. I like.

I really have to agree with the jerk salesman here, though. A movie like that is always better in your living room where you can feel free to throw your two cents in at any point. Any given scene in a movie like that always leaves you with a "speaking of which..."

Or maybe I'm just a sick, sick bastard.

Either way, I think that the only movies that benifit from the big screen treatment are the action flicks with billions of dollars worth of special effects. Even those usually wait for DVD now that I have HD and surround sound and tickets are $10 and up.

As for Borat, he was meant for 25 second clips on youtube. Let's face it, that wasn't so much a movie as it was a 90 minute collage of disjoint clips. I think that you wouldn't lose anything if you skipped the "story" that held them together.
